The Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society supports families and individuals who are experiencing family violence by providing them with safe shelter, education, advocacy, and access to community resources. We are currently looking for an individual to join our outreach team.
Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Develop, cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with community partners and donors.
- Assist with the coordination of annual, major and planned giving programs along with other fundraising initiatives, including third party events, special events, casinos and raffles.
- Promote community education presentations (workshops, in-service training sessions, agency displays, service group presentations, etc.) to schools, local businesses, community service groups, and professionals.
- Assist with the development and implementation of awareness campaigns.
- Coordinate presentations, annual community events the MHWSS participates in, and awareness campaigns.
- Maintain MHWSS social media profiles, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

- High initiative and creativity with excellent problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale and third party events.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to varied audiences.
- Have the ability to multi-task several priority items while paying attention to detail with minimal supervision.
- Experiences working with databases an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Current and clear police record check and child intervention check, showing no substantiated instances of child abuse or neglect.
Start Date: Start ASAP, concluding May 1st, 2026 (possibility of extension)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm, with a ½ hour unpaid lunch break. Flexibility required to accommodate evening and weekend fundraising events and presentations.
Rate of pay: Starting wage of $45,000 - $52,000 annually, dependent on experience; benefits package available after 3 months, including an employer funded RRSP program after one year of consecutive employment, 3 weeks of paid vacation time, many other supports in place.
